                Lynell Preston is a proud lifelong Wyoming resident with   

             deep roots in the values and traditions that make Wyoming strong.  

       Raised in Rawlins, Lynell moved to Cody in 2000 and has proudly called Park County home for the past 26 years. 

        Lynell and her husband, Mark, have been married for 21 years and built their life and family together in Cody. She is the proud mother of two sons, Zekke and Zane, and stepmother to Jaynie and Jessalynne. Family, faith, hard work, and community are the guiding principles that have shaped both her personal life and her commitment to public service. 

With more than 22 years of experience in Wyoming’s court system and legal field, Lynell brings professionalism, integrity, and firsthand knowledge of government service to the people of Park County. She served more than 17 years as a Deputy Clerk in the Clerk of District Court, 1.5 years as a Deputy Clerk in Circuit Court, and four years as a Legal Assistant for a local attorney. Her career has provided her with a strong understanding of the judicial process and reinforced the importance of accountability, accuracy, and ethical leadership.

An avid archer for more than 30 years, Lynell has competed in indoor, outdoor and 3D tournaments at the local, state, and national levels. She prefers to hunt big game with a bow and has harvested elk, mule deer, whitetail deer and antelope. Her dedication to the sport led her to serve as Secretary/Treasurer of the Wyoming State Archery Association (WSAA) for 15 years. She remains passionate about preserving Wyoming’s outdoor heritage, conservation efforts, and hunting traditions that are important to the Wyoming way of life.

Lynell is a dedicated Conservative Republican and an active member of the Park County Republican Women. She has served on the organization’s Executive Board for seven years and is currently serving a second term as 2nd Vice Chair. Through her leadership and community involvement, she has worked to strengthen conservative values, support local families, and advocate for the future of Wyoming communities.
